Senior Employment and Housing Support Worker (Leaving Care)

Flexible 2x Part time of 1x Full time

Full / Part Time / Job Share

37.5 hrs per week or from 16 hours per week

Salary Range £22k – £28k (£11.28 to £14.36) + Performance Bonus


Norman Galloway Homes have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, determined, and reliable person to be a part of our support team. We are currently piloting innovative housing schemes and employment programmes aimed at reducing the barriers young people in care face.

Your goal is to help young people in supported accommodation sustain their housing, access volunteering, and take part in our work programme. You will act as an appropriate role model and manage a caseload of young people to enable them to address their difficulties and achieve sustainable outcomes.

This is a varied role as we are constantly innovating and improving service delivery. We are running various pilot programmes and projects which means you need to be versatile and committed to change. We are building a team and as you settle in you will be able to find your niche inside Norman Galloway Homes.

Responsibilities:

Maintain a high quality of support which meets the physical, emotional, intellectual, social, and cultural needs of young people.

Provide training in Independent Living Skills to enable independent living (budgeting, finding employment, cooking, cleaning, basic general maintenance around the home etc).

Support a case load of young people whilst they participate in our employment programme.

Ensure that each young person’s support plan is followed and amended as appropriate to reflect their changing needs.

Requirements:

Ideal applicants will already have experience in support work, preferably related to managing support plans.

Must be able to communicate and interact cooperatively with colleagues and clients.

Must have excellent organisation and administration skills.

Be open to receiving training appropriate to the role and maintaining an up-to-date training profile.Full driving licence is highly desirable.
