The objective for us with Kickstart was to create jobs for young people as we came out of the pandemic. We created 176 jobs in total accross 59 employers. The Kickstart scheme was designed to give young people experience in work. These were young people that were furthest removed from the labor market and who would not have made it into work without Kickstart.

We are proud of what we achieved for young people and our employer partners. Once the scheme ends we will have distributed over £1m of employer subsidies.

The learning we have gained from taking part in Kickstart has really helped us in our ambition to create a National Jobs program for care leavers. We have since piloted a care leaver specific scheme and are now mobilising the 2nd pilot for care leavers.
