Since 2018, our mission has been to provide top-notch supported accommodation services and jobs for children in care and care leavers aged 16 -21. Through our wide range of services, we aim to help each young person in our accommodation build important relationships and a solid foundation for their future.
Our team, led by individuals with lived experience, understands the unique challenges our residents face. We’re proud to offer agile and flexible solutions, crafted to meet the individual needs of each care leaver.
We run 16+ supported accommodation for care leavers and unaccompanied asylum seeking children. All our 16+ services include living independently and employability short courses from Asdan. These programs include paid work experience up to 25 hours per week. (Note: where young people are permitted to work)
At Norman Galloway where appropriate we are able to transition from 16+ into 18+ often without the need to move. We are also an 'Exempt Accommodation' provider for 18+ care leavers who can claim housing benefit to contribute towards costs.
We understand that stepping into semi-independent accommodation can be overwhelming at first, but we hope your first impression of your new home is a good one.
This guide aims to address questions you may have, introduce you to us and help you understand what you can expect during your stay and what we expect from you.
But a little bit about us first, Norman Galloway Homes is a ‘Not for Profit’ company. This means that we don’t make any money personally from the services that we provide. Many people in our organisation have been through personal trauma and have lived experience of the care system. None of us know exactly what you are going through, and we will never pretend to because everyone’s journey is different.
